David’s Dance Calendar

David Millstone will call, with musicians coordinated by Randy Miller. Participants include Vince O’Donnell, Frank Ferrel, Cammy Kaynor, Kate Barnes, Stuart Kenney, Jack Perron, Art Bryan, and many more. Sit-ins welcome.

The dance, sponsored by the Monadnock Folklore Society, is the last of three events forming a Celebration of Life for Dudley Laufman, who died on July 13. (There’s a dance in Tamworth on Saturday night and the memorial service at 2 PM today in Canterbury.)

Suggested donation: $12 – $20.
Dudley’s family will donate proceeds to scholarships to Maine Fiddle Camp.

David Millstone leads the dances, with toe-tapping tunes provided by Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki (fiddle) and Sue Hunt (keyboard); sit-in musicians are welcome to join the band. ** Note: This month, we're on the 3rd Sunday, not the usual 2nd Sunday! 
English country dancing for all; music by Carol Compton (piano, recorders, accordion) and Thal Aylward (violin, viola). David Millstone will teach dances, a blend of old favorites (some going back to the 17th century) and more recent compositions. All dances taught, beginners heartily welcomed. Series continues through May on second Sundays of each month.
